This SOLD-OUT edition was limited to only 70 pieces (worldwide), and is impossible to find. Each cel also carries the Hanna-Barbera seal of authenticity-containing a fragment of Joe Barbera's DNA as your guarantee of the quality and validity of the artwork. It is believed that Bret Bogue, owner of Apothecary Genetics, is the one who first put forth the original, Indica strain. There is some debate about the exact point of creation of this strain. Each "The Great Grape Ape" is individually numbered and features the signatures of Bill Hanna and Joseph Barbera. If you are looking to unwind after a hard day, Grape Ape is perfect for a cozy, chilled night in. ![]() The background by Jim Hickey was recreated using a fine art lithograph process. Each cel was then expertly hand-painted on the reverse side. Dee Dee is from the cartoon Captain Caveman & the Teen Angels, a segment of Scoobys All Star. The art for this limited edition was created at the Hanna Barbera studio in Hollywood, beginning with master inking by Donna Zeller, and transferring her inks by silkscreening them onto an acetate sheet (or "cel"). This compilation packaged reruns of the 1975 The Tom and Jerry/Grape Ape Show with Mumbly as a new component. It was broadcast on ABC from Septemto Septemas part of The Tom and Jerry/Grape Ape/Mumbly Show. The Mumbly Cartoon Show is a Saturday morning animated series produced by Hanna-Barbera Productions and featuring the titular Mumbly, a cartoon dog detective.
